Rodrygo remains on Arsenal’s radar Getty
Arsenal remain in the running to sign Rodrygo but are waiting to see if Real Madrid will approve a loan deal, according to reports.
The 24-year-old’s future at Madrid has looked uncertain since the arrival of Xabi Alonso at the end of May.
Rodrygo started just one of Madrid’s six matches at the Club World Cup this summer and played a combined total of 92 minutes across the tournament.
Rodrygo is said to be intent on staying at Madrid for the upcoming season and wants to work his way into Alonso’s plans.
However, The Times report that Arsenal are still keeping tabs on Rodrygo’s situation and will consider a move if a potential loan deal is offered by Madrid.

The report adds that Arsenal are still planning to make an approach to Crystal Palace over a deal for Eberechi Eze, whose £68 million release clause expires on August 15.

Meanwhile, Spanish radio station Cadena SER reported this week that Tottenham are also in the running to sign Rodrygo and are considering a €60m £52m offer for the Brazil international.
Madrid are said to be open to offers for Rodrygo but are not actively looking to sell the winger before the end of the summer transfer window.
Last season, reports also suggested that Rodrygo was unhappy with his position in Madrid’s attack as he prefers to play on the left rather than the regular right-sided role he was given by Carlo Ancelotti.
Rodrygo endured a difficult end to last season under Ancelotti and then with Alonso at the Club World Cup, scoring just once and registering two assists in 25 appearances since the start of February.
